Jaydee Models is proud to present comedy and tragedy, a 1/4 scale resin statue. Having always enjoyed the theme of theatre and acting, the iconic masks that represent comedy and tragedy, and especially classic horror films such as theatre of blood (one of my all time favorites) all combined to inspire me to design and sculpt something that's a little more abstract than usual for me. The idea of the sculpture is simple, the actor is removing there personality and feelings to replace it with the emotion and the character required for the performance. Portraying all of that in a sculpture was the difficult part.

The first thing I decided whilst still sketching out the design and look of the statue was to use a jointed posable armature that easily allowed me to make big or small alterations during the entire sculpting process. The reason for this was that I wanted to portray emotion in the body as the figure is faceless, and not sure exactly what pose I wanted till the sculpture was underway this was the best idea. Despite the unusual theme of the sculpture, i wouldn't feel inspired if there wasn't beauty to it. Her body features subtle muscle and bone structure, soft and delicate folds in the skin, fine and detailed hair with twin pony tails, all finished with white lace around her wrists and neck, and gold finished earrings in place. The body is finished in a satin white.

The base is finished in a gloss black with beautiful details on all sides and the iconic comedy and tragedy masks on the top, finished in a satin white. This is limited to 150 signed and numbered on the base. Height 13 inches (33 cm).
